Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 Digital Camera

Sony announced the Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 digital camera. The DSC-T100 has a 8. Megapixel CCD sensor, Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens and a 3-inch LCD screen. The T100 has the BIONZ Image Processor, Face Detection technology, Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation, an ISO sensiticity up to 3200, and support for Full HD 1080i output.

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 has 31MB internal memory, and a Memory Stick DUO/Memory Stick DUO Pro card slot.

It will be available in black, silver and red color and priced at about $400.

The Sony DSC-N2

The Sony DSC-N2 is an evolution of the DSC-N1, and keeps the 3-inch touch screen display, the "pocket album" capability (which allows you to store up to 500 VGA-resolution images in the camera itself), the "slide show" display mode, and the Carl Zeiss zoom lens. The main upgrade is the CCD sensor, which is rated at 10.1 megapixels, up from the 8.1 of the DSC-N1. Another feature of note is the ISO 1600 capability of the Sony N2, which will help remove the blur when taking photos of moving subjects or for taking pictures without a flash in a low-light environment.

Dislike
- slow zoom
- the favorites sections and the plastic people demo pictures (do we really need those?)
- issue with saturation and light balance when camera is flipped vertically and horizontially. Quite a different photo (darker) is capable when camera is tilted on end (vertical), as opposite (lighter) to normal position. Why do I have this issue?
- focus response and strength can be improved if this camera is to be used in the field. It seems to have some issues, but is not a problem most of the time.
- Kodak, could you give us a custom fit camera case for this camera? That would another good incentive to buy this camera.
- flimsy battery and SD card flaps. (While they work for the design, they do come apart easily when in heavy use. The battery cover kept being a problem for me)
- screen looks like it can scratch easy. An easy tip to remedy this is to place a screen protector used for PDA's over the screen. Cut it out to match the space and stick it on the screen. Replace it when it gets too scratched.
